Jules Spanou joins RY as head of user experience
RY’s Digital Experience team continues to grow with the hire of Jules Spanou as its new head of user experience.
Jules brings deep experience having led digital transformation projects for Three, Specsavers and Scotiabank in addition to time spent working at the likes of pwc, Net-a-Porter and UCL. Her role will see her drive our UX consultancy across the agency’s existing client portfolio, working closely with both our design, build and project management teams. As our services become increasingly integrated, she’ll be charged with elevating UX up the client agenda and demonstrating how it creates measurable value through digital communications and beyond.
She joins an award-winning team responsible for building websites and digital experiences for a growing client roster. Supported by a diverse range of brand, sustainability, film, employee engagement and reporting experts, RY’s digital team has a track record of creating standout sites and experiences for the likes of Tesco, ArcelorMittal, Ocado, L&G and Nestle. Jules knows both team and agency well having worked closely with us earlier this year as we designed a new, category-defining website for GSK.
Graeme Kendrew, creative director and director of experience design, said: ‘We’re delighted Jules has joined us. She joins an ambitious team committed to delivering digital communications that bring brands to life and, critically, work that really matters to clients and their audiences. Jules offers experience and creativity and will act as the glue that brings strategy, design and technology together. It’s a pivotal hire for us and it’s great to have her onboard.’
Jules Spanou said: ‘We’re experiencing a mature but ever-changing digital landscape. In it, brands need to adapt fast and purposefully, evolving products and communicating in multitudinal ways with increasingly diverse audiences. This relies on a range of creative disciplines working together seamlessly - all disciplines RY has in house. I believe UX can act as a conductor, filtering an understanding of complex issues, business value and audience needs through a systemic lens to design positive, helpful and connected experiences.
‘I believe beautiful collaborations make life beautiful, and I’ve had a blast working with RY over the last year. I can’t think of a better team to join, help grow, and build great products with together.’
