Barcelona might be known for its iconic sights, but last week at the Workiva Amplify 2025 conference, a new attraction caught people’s attention: a bright pink stand with a bold perspective on what reporting can be.
Set against the impressive backdrop of vast auditoriums and a buzzing exhibition hall, Amplify brought together hundreds of professionals from across the ever-evolving world of reporting. At its core, the event revolved around the Workiva platform; now a go-to for managing complex, compliance-driven reporting requirements. But while much of the focus was understandably on technology and regulatory updates, we saw a chance to bring something different.
At RY, we believe reporting isn’t just about ticking boxes. It’s about telling a bigger story.
Under our theme, ‘This is reporting’, we invited attendees to think beyond compliance. To explore the power of reporting to spark change, inspire trust and connect with stakeholders in meaningful ways. Our team brought energy, ideas, and expertise, not just on the technical side of things, but across strategy, creative, and content too. The conversations we had proved what we already know: when reporting is done well, it has the power to differentiate, lead and transform.
A highlight of Day 1 was our Sustainability Director, Louise Ayling, taking the stage. In just 20 minutes, she challenged organisations to stop viewing reporting as an obligation and start seeing it as an opportunity. It was a refreshing, thought-provoking session that cut through the more functional themes dominating the agenda.
And to make our presence even more memorable, we turned our stand into an interactive canvas (literally). We invited delegates to share what reporting means to them, writing directly onto our walls. The result? A vibrant mix of views and a reminder that while reporting means something different to everyone, at RY we bring those perspectives together to create something truly powerful.
