Apply nowWe are looking for a brilliant Senior Integrated Reporting Strategist to join our forward-thinking team and lead the creation and delivery of integrated annual and sustainability reports for high-profile global clients. In this brand new role, you’ll leverage a unique blend of technical know-how, strategic vision, and creative storytelling to lead the development of integrated reporting strategies for some of our most complex and high-profile clients, while driving more joined up thinking across our work, and strengthening our market position. Collaborating with designers, project managers, and strategists across the agency, you’ll ensure businesses effectively communicate both their financial and non-financial performance and impact. In doing so, you’ll play a vital role in advancing RY’s vision: to create a world that believes in business.
Remit and responsibilities
– Shape the future of reporting: Collaborate with the sustainability and reporting strategy team to evolve our thinking around integrated reporting—ensuring regulations drive real value beyond disclosure.
– Lead integrated reporting programmes: Deliver insightful, rigorous, and engaging multi-channel reports by partnering with strategists, creatives, and project managers.
– Advise on reporting frameworks and compliance: Guide clients through alignment with key sustainability and reporting standards (e.g. ESRS, ISSB, GRI, TCFD, TNFD, Corporate Governance Code), using tools like gap analysis, benchmarking, and value chain mapping.
– Pitch to win: Support pitch efforts and client growth through strategic input and compelling reporting solutions.
– Champion thought leadership: Generate bold ideas, unique perspectives, and contribute to marketing and thought leadership content that enhances our reputation and drives opportunities.
– Build internal capability: Help upskill the wider team on reporting best practice through training and collaboration with other disciplines (e.g. brand, digital, employee experience).
– Translate complexity into clarity: Turn strategic, financial, and ESG narratives into clear, compelling disclosures across all channels and stakeholder touchpoints.
– Collaborate on creative execution: Develop wireframes and briefs, working with designers to produce visually impactful, user-friendly reports and assets.
– Leverage investor and comms expertise: Apply financial PR or investor relations knowledge to ensure consistent and effective messaging.
– Deliver multiple projects seamlessly: Manage priorities, timelines, and stakeholders to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.
– Stay ahead of the curve: Monitor reporting trends, evolving frameworks, and creative innovations to inform client work and internal thinking.
Requirements:
– You’re totally up to speed with the rapidly evolving landscape of sustainability and ESG frameworks and also Annual Reporting Requirements, and have a solid working knowledge of CSRD/ESRS and ISSB, the Corporate Governance Code and others, with demonstrable experience applying these standards with clients.
– You have bucketloads of experience advising on and developing clients’ integrated, sustainability (and ESG), and annual reporting, from first timers to those leading the pack. The content of the reporting is just as important as the way it’s communicated, and you’re a dab hand at both.
– Strong creative communications expertise—you’re able to tell business stories with clarity, impact, and visual flair.
– Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams while taking initiative and delivering independently.
– Importantly, you’re familiar with communications strategy and creative process, and can unearth a brilliant insight and develop a solid strategy, acting as a springboard for the best creative ideas. Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting to a range of internal and external audiences.
– Deep curiosity and sector interest in sustainability, strategic communications, investor relations, ESG, and the future of corporate reporting.
– Enthusiasm for continuous learning and sharing knowledge with colleagues and clients. Thought-leadership and ability to provide strategic comm's to the benefit of the agency
– Commercially astute, you’re adept at identifying and implementing commercial actions that aid the maintenance and growth of RY.
– Financial PR or investor relations experience is highly desirable.
