The Production Assistant role is the backbone to every successful Production department. You will provide general office and production support to the whole Film and Animation team and will also work with RY teams & freelancers. You’ll need excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to restricted deadlines on a number of tasks at one time.
This is an ideal role for someone starting their career in film as the Production Assistant gets involved in a wide range of activities, everything from helping organise a shoot, to updating team documentation and writing up proposals.
Responsibilities
- Departmental Admin – You will be responsible for a wide range of admin duties, including the co-ordination of diaries, booking meeting rooms, the setting up and minuting of all Department meetings, ordering couriers & taxis, and setting up job & pitch numbers. You’ll also maintain the departmental documents.
- Pre-production tasks – You will work with Producers to assist with specific production requirements including call sheets, kit bookings, car hire, travel & hotel bookings, freelancer, crew & post production bookings and assist on location shoots where appropriate.
- Project finance – You will assist with the financial tracking of all projects, looking after the preparation of purchase orders, ordering cash floats & foreign currencies, reconciling shoot expenses & credit card statements.
- Freelancers and resourcing – You will prepare for support our resourcing meetings, working with the producers to make sure all resources needed for a project are in place.
Requirements:
- A genuine desire to become a film and animation producer
- Attention to detail is crucial in both written and verbal communication
- Excellent telephone / email / personal manner
- Be proficient with Word, Excel, Entourage, PowerPoint and InDesign
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
