The industry and beyond
As one of the world’s leading insurers and asset managers, Allianz Group was increasingly relying on sustainability information to assess where to allocate money and how to mobilise its global businesses. It wanted its sustainability reporting to help in this enterprise by finding ways to disclose performance data more meaningfully – and, in turn, shape what valuable, effective reporting looks like for the industry and beyond.
Reliable. Comparable. Useful.
Sustainability-related targets and relevant performance information are essential in enhancing the quality and usability of sustainability reporting. To help Allianz disclose data more meaningfully, we changed the structure of Allianz’s reporting to focus on communicating its approach to two central, material sustainability issues. Our treatment of both saw us integrate sustainability targets, commitments and performance data across its divisions to present information that was more reliable, comparable and useful.
Shaping reporting, driving progress
Allianz’s sustainability reporting has been transformed, and now acts as a powerful tool that supports internal decision-making. Critically however, it also helps external stakeholders with their decision-making. In this way, it not only positions the company as a shaper of quality reporting, but also as a driver of progress on sustainability more generally, too.
