Allen & Overy is the most advanced law firm in the world, but its ageing web presence was holding it back. The digital brand was inconsistent, and the user experience didn’t fit the needs of its audiences. RY was approached to consolidate Allen & Overy’s websites onto a single platform, with a digital first brand identity and user interface design.
The new site needed to tell Allen & Overy’s story more effectively, increase visibility of content, and create a consistent user experience across all channels. The firm also needed a platform that would support industry-leading content, drive more leads and generate ongoing insights for the business development teams.
We found ample evidence of the firm’s ‘advanced’ promise, so we turned to twentieth century European avant-garde for inspiration. This provided the breakthrough to use the grid system, basic shapes and typography in new ways.
The creative approach lifted key templates on the website. From this we built the new site on the Sitecore enterprise platform, to deliver an advanced level of personalisation and key customer insights.
The website has helped Allen & Overy to take a step towards a more clearly defined digital presence. In its first two months, the website saw an increase in key metrics including: 16% increase in users, 12% increase in mobile traffic, 108% increase in page views and 86% increase in page views per visit.
