Every year, Recycle Week gets bigger. This year’s event, which took place last week (23-28 September), marked the 17th year of the nationwide event taking the nation by storm. Organised by the Waste Resources Action Programme (WRAP), the theme created by RY was designed to tap into the sense of positive activism that’s become so widespread.
More partners than ever before got on board to back the campaign, including Coca-Cola, M&S, Ribena and Marmite all spreading the word on social media with the hashtag #InOurOwnHands.
And around the nation, iconic buildings went “green” to show their support. The most exciting, and closest to home being the London Eye.
This Recycle Week comes at a time where environmental issues are more at the forefront of our daily lives than ever. Launching straight after the momentous climate strike taking place across the world – and the likes of Greta Thunberg and Sir David Attenborough speaking out – it’s an exciting time to be a part of the conversation around environmental issues.
