As a recognised thought leader in sustainability communications, RY is poised to deliver our insight to all kinds of new clients – at a pivotal point in history, when vast movements toward sustainable innovation are sweeping through the marketplace.

As a Strategist on the Sustainability Engagement team, you’ll help us find and develop client work that reflects a decisive change to more sustainable ways of doing business. And you’ll be a part of a growing offer that is intent on leading the field.


  • Working with the Sustainability Engagement Director and Senior Consultant to define, and sometimes lead, the strategic thinking on allocated client work.
  • Taking or defining a core idea, strategy or story, and unpacking it in the context of the client’s core challenge or to connect more effectively with their specific audiences.
  • Clearly briefing creative teams, and working alongside creatives to derive a stunning solution to the challenge at hand.
  • Consulting with director level clients and down, challenging and expanding their thinking, providing insight and imagination, and sharing knowledge of best practice or legal requirements.
  • Ability to distil and simplify information, and turn it into a revealing insight that has actionable consequences.
  • Setting direction for and employing a range of problem-solving approaches which may include insight development (qual & quant), desk research, benchmarking, running workshops, brainstorming, report writing etc.
  • Having a strong instinct to read deeply into the core client challenge and, where necessary, interrogate the brief to steer toward a solution for what clients really need (vs what they may think they need).
  • Setting KPIs for each project so that the value of our work can be measured.
  • Have a strong Commercial Capability.
