The Billing and Credit Controller is a key role in finance, ensuring that invoices are raised in timely fashion and handling subsequent collection of payment in order to drive cash inflow and maintain a healthy working capital position.


- Raising sales invoices to clients in accordance with payment plans, SOWs / contracts and the client’s billing procedures.

- Handling and resolving client billing queries.

- Perform daily bank reconciliations.

- Analysing third party client costs and ensuring these are billed in timely fashion.

- WIP management.

- Escalation of write offs to client directors and client services.

- Ownership of the accounts receivable function, liaising with clients to keep overdue balances to a minimum.

- Detailing all credit control notes on the system.

- Ensuring that all jobs on the system have payment plans in place and chase where they are missing.

- Obtaining POs from client services and clients.

- Keeping client data up to date, such as contact details and payment terms etc.

- On boarding of new clients ensuring that all information and client procedures are obtained and VAT supply treatment assessed.

- Assist the Management Accountant with cashflow forecasting on expected client receipts.

- Perform daily bank reconciliations.

- Other non-client billing including rental income and supplier commissions.


- Experienced in billing and credit control.

- Experience within marketing services or other professional services would be advantageous.

- Demonstrated experience of working with corporate clients and client services.

- Knowledge and understanding of job costing and accounting systems (Workbook would be an advantage).

- Confident in communicating by telephone and email with appropriateness and diplomacy.

- Persistence, resilience and focused.

- Bias towards action and achievement.

- Receptive to the ideas of others and also able to make your own decisions.
