Head to the Change4Life website and the first thing you see is
The Fun Generator, a cool app that suggests activities and games
designed to keep kids active during the school holidays.
For example, "sponge toss" involves two teams of kids, both of
whom form a line facing each other, with a full bucket of water at
one end and an empty bucket at the other. When the whistle blows
the team member nearest the full bucket dips their sponge in the
water and passes it along the line to the person at the end. They
squeeze it out into the empty bucket, pass the sponge back and the
process starts again, with the first team to transfer all their
water proclaimed the winner.
Now, describing a game like this in words is all very well, but
when it comes to encouraging kids there's no substitute for showing
the fun in action. So that's exactly what we did. Our film uses
real kids and adopts a positive, almost innocent approach to having
fun that's a million miles away from the cynicism of some
children's entertainment. A key part of the film's appeal is our
use of stop motion action to speed the action up and make the
impossible possible. On-screen graphics add to the fun and help get
the message across, giving adults the instructions they need to
make the whole escapade a success.
We used this approach for a suite of funky little films bringing
different games and activities to life, from "Bulldog" to "Duck,
Duck Goose". The client is delighted with the result, and kids (and
their parents) love it.
