There are two main elements to the Corporate 50: Televisual’s rankings and the peer poll. Both are based on responses by production companies to Televisual’s survey early in the year.

Televisual Corporate 50

The Edge regain first place in the Corporate 50, up from second place in 2017. The Edge and Jack Morton have featured in the top three every year for a decade – a remarkable achievement. Congratulations to drp, who join the top three for the first time.

Radley Yeldar and Media Zoo, both in their highest place ever, complete the top five.

This year’s biggest riser is Raw London, up a huge 21 places to 15th. Aspect (up 20 to =17th), Pretzel & Peggy (up 17 to 9th), Zut (up 17 to =33rd), Hub (up 16 to 27th) and Pukka Films (up 15 to =17th) also shot up the rankings.

Nine agencies disappear from the rankings: Tangerine and World Television, both after 10 years; BMS, after 7 years; The Moment; Scorch; Contra; Instinctif; Headlines, formerly h3; and Sandstorm. In most cases this is probably because they did not respond to the survey. We are aware that Tangerine Films have become part of Prodigious UK and that Scorch went through a restructuring last year.

Myriad (16th) and WMP Creative (=24th) make a return to the 50. New entrants are Pink Banana at =33rd, plus the final six: Reels in Motion, Mocha, Sprat, Inspired Films, Ark Media and Inner Eye.

Peer Poll

The Peer Poll measures which production companies are most respected by fellow film professionals.

Casual Films maintain top spot in the Peer Poll for the third year running. They still lag The Edge in terms of the number of years they’ve headed the peer poll, and the two of them shared no. 1 in 2016. But Casual have come a long way since starting out in 2006.

Lonelyleap take third spot in the Peer Poll, their sixth consecutive appearance. There are five new entrants: Plastic Pictures, drp, Pretzel & Peggy, Radley Yeldar and Raw London, who appear for the first time. They take the place of MerchantCantos, Pukka Films, Armoury Films, Giggle Group and Wing.
