Once again, with another reporting season drawing to a close, it's time to reflect.

In the brief pause before it all kicks off again, we thought it would be useful to note what common experiences we've found from working with our clients, what themes have emerged according to our 'How Does It Stack Up?' research and what we can expect from the year ahead.

Despite the up and coming European Single Electronic Format (ESEF), there is still a firm commitment to the report as the main communication tool; working alongside the corporate website, setting out the company's investment case and bringing together different departments and teams.

Regardless of channel, a report is a window into a company. Aiding engagement and presenting the organisation's depth and scale in one place, as a point-in-time record of goals, accomplishments and milestones. Ultimately, a report enhances reputation and helps build trust.
